Education for the Prevention of Teen Dating Violence

This last legislative year in Arizona a law was passed, SB1308 High School Instruction, Education for the Prevention of Teen Dating Violence. Basically what this law says is that every School Districts Board, must address, consider and vote on the Education for the Prevention of Teen Dating Violence cirriculum as well as policies and procedures to deal with such situations in a board meeting by June 30, 2011. While the law was originally written to mandate the education for the prevention of Teen Dating Violence as well as policies and procedures, at the very least this brings awareness to the issue of Teen Dating Violence to people that may otherwise not realize the prevelance of Teen Dating Violence. It is important that parents, students and anyone that feels such a cirriculum would be advantageous to our children attend these board meetings and let the board members of their school district know how important it is that such a cirriculum is adopted as well as policies and procedures for the safety of our children. Please let us know your feelings about this kind of education. What are your ideas for delivery?
